Munckhof acquires BAB-VIOS Touringcars and Hofstad Tours
Founded in 1922 as VIOS (Vooruitgang Is Ons Streven – "Progress Is Our Striving"), BAB-VIOS has grown as a family business, acquiring several companies over the years, including BAB (Buitelaars Automobiel Bedrijf). Since 2022, the company has held the prestigious Royal Supplier designation. Hofstad Tours specializes in high-end, luxury coach travel, offering premium comfort and style. Both companies are based in Wateringen, south of The Hague.
Strengthening Our Regional Presence
Arjan Wiering, Managing Director of Munckhof, is excited about the acquisition: "We are incredibly proud to welcome these esteemed companies and their employees to the Munckhof family." Munckhof is well-known in the region for its various transport services, and this acquisition strengthens its position in the Randstad and the dynamic coach market. "With this acquisition, we not only reinforce our presence in the region, but we also expand our national coverage as a high-quality and sustainable mobility provider."
Personal Service, Loyalty, Quality, and Sustainability
Former owner Michel Kortekaas had no direct successor for his business and was committed to securing the future of his companies, the employment of his staff, and the service to his customers. Munckhof, BAB-VIOS, and Hofstad Tours share the same core values—personal service, loyalty, quality, and sustainability. This alignment made Munckhof the ideal partner. Regarding the acquisition, Kortekaas stated: “I strongly believe we have created a fantastic combination of companies that will maintain their exceptional position and status in our city. I look forward to an exciting future ahead."
Building a Bright Future Together
Arjan Wiering echoes this sentiment:"BAB-VIOS Touringcars and Hofstad Tours are well-respected companies with an excellent reputation in The Hague and beyond. Our first priority is to ensure that our new colleagues feel welcome within our organization. After that, we will work on streamlining processes to align operations. Our ultimate goal is to expand activities in The Hague and surrounding areas. We are grateful to Michel Kortekaas for staying on board during the transition, ensuring a smooth handover, and we look forward to working together in the coming months."
