Municipalities of Maassluis, Vlaardingen and Schiedam choose Munckhof

The municipalities of Maassluis, Vlaardingen and Schiedam have chosen Munckhof to carry out their school transport for the coming years. Munckhof won the tender for transporting pupils from these municipalities to and from schools in Rotterdam. The company will begin transporting more than 180 pupils next school year.

Expansion of transport package

Winning the tender has strengthened Munckhof's position as a transport coordinator in the western Netherlands. 'Munckhof currently provides school transport and social support transport for the municipalities of Barendrecht, Albrandswaard and Ridderkerk, and coordinates transport for the COA (central agency for the reception of asylum seekers) as well as taxi transport for Dutch Railways,' says director Jos Poortinga. 'Coordinating school transport for the municipalities of Maassluis, Vlaardingen and Schiedam is a great addition to the transport package in this region.'

Specialist in school transport

Munckhof has specialized in coordinating and carrying out school transport for several years now. All transport is planned and coordinated by the management centre in Horst and carried out in collaboration with local taxi companies. 'Munckhof has had its own management centre for more than ten years now and has been the primary transport partner for various Dutch municipalities and healthcare institutions for over a decade as well,' says Poortinga. 'The municipalities are facing growing responsibilities and shrinking budgets, which makes efficient and affordable transport essential. This is only possible by working with parties that can offer the necessary flexibility, scope and knowledge. I'm extremely proud that the municipalities of Maassluis, Vlaardingen and Schiedam have put their faith in Munckhof to reach these goals.'
